Say hello to our newest streamer, the Innuos PULSEmini. Being huge fans of its big brothers, the Zen Series of music servers we couldn’t not try out Innuos’ streaming only offering, and boy were we not disappointed!
Powered by the heavily optimised innuOS operating system running on an Intel quad-core processor, industrial-grade SSD and 4GB RAM all fitted to a custom-designed motherboard within a striking, compact case. Innuos have designed it from the ground up to maximise quality of musical playback.
Despite being Innuos’ entry-level network music player, how it sounds makes clear you’re listening to something special. Supporting coaxial and optical SPDIF outputs up to 24bit/192kHz, it also boasts PCM output up to 32bit/768kHz and DSD512 via USB to compatible DACs, something almost unheard of in this price range. Don’t have a DAC yet? No problem – the PULSEmini comes with its own integrated DAC, allowing simple RCA connections to your other devices. Talk about flexible…
Control is via Innuos’ excellent Sense app, which is intuitive and well designed with a wealth of options of tweaking and integrations.
The PULSEmini also offers two distinct operating modes to cater to your existing setup. In Standalone mode, it becomes the heart of your audio system, seamlessly playing streaming services, Internet Radio, and music from your NAS. Alternatively, in Endpoint Mode, it connects to your main music server, showcasing as a zone on your server app for a tailored and intuitive music browsing experience.
