Linn have recently launched a serious upgrade to their top-of-the-line 360 loudspeakers. A ground up drive unit design for upper and lower bass drivers, the new Pistonik drivers minimises loss from magnetic, mechanical and thermal factors.

A heavily magnetically saturated motor assembly contributes to increased speed and agility by reducing magnetic drag, the triple layered ventilation network minimises acoustic compression within the drive unit as well as helping dissipate heat which can affect the resistance of the voice coil through optimised ventilation paths.

The results are quite remarkable, bringing not just better defined bass response but also bringing a naturalness to the mids and highs.

New 360 loudspeakers will ship with Pistonik on board, with a full set of upper and lower bass drivers available to purchase separately as an upgrade.
