Sony 4k Laser Projector and Anthem AV Receivers light up our cinemas

New Cinema Sony 4k Anthem AV

As the Loud and Clear team continues preparations for reopening, we’re delighted to share with you some major improvements to our home theatre demonstration rooms, including our new Sony 4k VW790ES laser projector and Anthem MRX 1140 AV Receiver.

You might have already experienced our reference home theatre, which has always featured a truly discrete cinema installation calibrated for the ultimate in picture and sound quality. Yet 2021 sees several upgrades to bring you even more enjoyment from your movies, games and television, with simplified control and fewer products required to make for an unforgettable experience.

`

Firstly in our ‘Big’ Cinema room we have installed the Sony VW790ES 4K Laser projector, which delivers incredible brightness, contrast and definition, even in a lit room. This Sony utilises a laser light source instead of traditional lamp based systems. which has a number of advantages and benefits over a traditional lamp; longer life (20,000 hours and beyond), a more consistent and stable light level, much cooler and quieter operation, plus nearly instantaneous power up and down cycles and their fastest refresh rate for incredible smoothness with movies, broadcast media and games.

Where it really matters however is the image and in this the Sony excels with high quality precision colours, incredible black levels and improved shadow detail. The Sony lens provides a sumptuous, sharply focused and detailed image no matter the size of your screen.

The Sony is a true 4K panel and under the hood it features some important upgrades on its predecessor, the 760:

  • ‘X1 for Projector’ picture processor – transports the advanced image processing found on Sony’s high-end 4K BRAVIA TVs and calibrates it for a projected image.
  • Dynamic HDR Enhancer – this analyses any HDR content utilising laser brightness and the 790’s dynamic iris to enhance HDR, making bright scenes brighter and dark scenes darker.

In our application we’re projecting onto an automated 8 foot Grandview screen, which we’ve programmed to drop from a hidden cassette when required, then automatically retract when the show is over.

All in all a power house of projection, book a demonstration for post 26th April.

Audio has seen a similar leap in performance as we’ve employed Anthem’s latest home cinema receivers and processors. In our reference cinema we’re using the Anthem MRX 1140 receiver to take care of all video and audio processing, giving us a configuration known as 7.2.4 which is perfect for this size and shape of room. 7.2.4 means you’re enveloped by seven speakers for seamless surround, with 2 subwoofers providing rich, deep and powerful bass and 4 Dolby Atmos height axis speakers.

The MRX 1140 is a 15.2 pre-amplifier  AV receiver with 11 channels of amplification, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and IMAX enhanced. It delivers 140Watts per channel continuous power into 8 ohms and includes ARC (Anthem Room Correction), with HDMI v2.1 8K.

Our speakers have been buried in our walls and ceilings, providing an incredibly discrete yet high performance solution. Video and audio has been precisely calibrated using our expertise and Anthem’s ARC Room Correction protocol, to ensure that the picture and soundtrack reaches you exactly as the director intended.

Control of the entire room is simplified using the latest Neo system from Control 4, allowing us to control all aspects of the home cinema from one, simple wireless handset and from an app which can be installed on a smartphone or tablet.

Our ‘Wee’ cinema room has also had a lockdown renovation and upgrade.

In this theatre we have installed the new Anthem MRX 740 AV receiver – a 11.2 pre-amplifier with 7 channels of amplification, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and IMAX enhanced. The 740 also delivers 140Watts per channel continuous power into 8 ohms and includes ARC (Anthem Room Correction), with HDMI v2.1 8K7 and also fed by a Sony 4k projection system.

Two stunning cinematic experiences to suit different spaces and requirements and an illustration of our capabilities, though of course your home is bespoke, and our cinema and entertainment systems are all tailored and specified to your individual needs and taste.
