Firstly in our ‘Big’ Cinema room we have installed the Sony VW790ES 4K Laser projector, which delivers incredible brightness, contrast and definition, even in a lit room. This Sony utilises a laser light source instead of traditional lamp based systems. which has a number of advantages and benefits over a traditional lamp; longer life (20,000 hours and beyond), a more consistent and stable light level, much cooler and quieter operation, plus nearly instantaneous power up and down cycles and their fastest refresh rate for incredible smoothness with movies, broadcast media and games.
Where it really matters however is the image and in this the Sony excels with high quality precision colours, incredible black levels and improved shadow detail. The Sony lens provides a sumptuous, sharply focused and detailed image no matter the size of your screen.
The Sony is a true 4K panel and under the hood it features some important upgrades on its predecessor, the 760:
- ‘X1 for Projector’ picture processor – transports the advanced image processing found on Sony’s high-end 4K BRAVIA TVs and calibrates it for a projected image.
- Dynamic HDR Enhancer – this analyses any HDR content utilising laser brightness and the 790’s dynamic iris to enhance HDR, making bright scenes brighter and dark scenes darker.
In our application we’re projecting onto an automated 8 foot Grandview screen, which we’ve programmed to drop from a hidden cassette when required, then automatically retract when the show is over.
All in all a power house of projection, book a demonstration for post 26th April.
