Until Innuos released their first “Zenith” integrated CD ripper/server in 2016 we had no simple and elegant solution for ripping CD libraries losslessly. Sure there were some products on the market, but they were generally overpriced and unreliable, hence us advocating ripping with a Mac/PC, DBPoweramp and storing on a QNAP or Synology NAS drive with internal RAID and external backup. How cumbersome!

Thankfully Innuos now have our backs, with four mainline solution products: Statement, Zenith, the Zen and the ZENmini. Operationally these devices are as close to perfection as we’ve seen. Insert your CD and 5 minutes later it is automatically ejected, having been ripped losslessly to FLAC and correctly tagged with your album’s metadata and cover art.

All Innuos products run their in-house innuOS 2.0 operating system, which means features are regularly added and ease-of-use improved further with simple online firmware updates. At Loud & Clear we recommend a similarly sized USB backup disc (around £60 for 2TB) and we’ll configure your backups automatically for additional peace of mind.
