The 250i features MOON’s SimLink controller port, allowing for 2-way communications between other compatible MOON components. So, for example, if you were to connect your 260D to the 250i via the SimLink, pressing the (play) button on the 260D will cause the 250i to automatically switch to the input labelled ‘CD’. A second feature of SimLink involves the ‘Standby’ function. By pressing down and holding the ‘Standby’ button for 2 seconds on either the 260D or 250i, both units will go into ‘Standby’ mode. The same logic applies when switching from ‘Standby’ to active mode.
At MOON, we have noted that the world of Hi-Fi very much feels like the 1980s all over again, with a huge demand for analogue musical sounding transistor amps, with a get up and go performance that will play every type of music, from electro pop to Bach and beyond! The problem back in the 80s was that these amps cost a fortune and reliability was not great. They could also be huge, heavy and very very bad for our wee planet. Low cost options sounded either brittle or flat due to poorly developed semi-conductors and low grade PCBs (to name just a couple of reasons).
With the MOON 250i you get great music, played back with gusto and with all the ‘timing’ aspects fully intact. Styling, fit, finish and standard of construction are very 2022 and the provided warranty will look after you all the way to 2032.
