Koetsu Moving Coil cartridges

One form of great art deserves another. Koetsu moving coil phono cartridges are hand crafted in Japan, with the finest materials available, by second generation master cartridge maker Fumihiko Sugano. These sonic and visual masterpieces are available in limited quantities and are offered by only a select few audio retailers. Loud & Clear is delighted to join that elite group.

Koetsu has obtained legendary status amongst the audiophile world with it’s exquisite hand made cartridges. Pioneering high quality materials in the build plus using fabulous wooden and stone bodies in most of the range, a Koetsu is not only a musical instrument, but a thing of beauty too.

Here is our demonstration Koetsu Urushi Gold – a truly iconic cartridge in the world of high performance vinyl replay.

Using traditional Japanese Urushi lacquer which cures the natural rosewood body, changing its resonant frequency, the lustrous Urushi Gold uses silver clad ultra-high purity copper coils housed in the delicately lacquered rosewood shell. The result is sublime!

Our Koetsu Urushi Gold is pictured here on one of our demo Sondek LP12s, and a rather special one it is too. With an Audio Origami PU7 Ti tonearm, Keel sub-chassis, Karousel bearing, Radikal PSU, Tangerine top plate, Solid Sounds Wenge plinth, this is a very special deck indeed. Just one of many LP12s we have built to our own specification for demonstration.

We are very much looking forward to playing our new Koetsu cartridges to our vinyl-loving customers.

We also have Koetsu Black Goldline on dem – the most affordable Koetsu, But it doesn’t sacrifice what makes a Koetsu special. The Black Goldline uses many of the same parts as the higher end models and the result is effortless musicality and magic.
