As part of the ongoing development of our Southside Demonstration Suites we have installed a Linn Akurate System in Suite Two – a fantastic sounding multimedia system for both music and movies. The system comprises Linn Akurate System Hub and Sondek LP12 as our digital and analogue sources, into a pair of Aktiv Exakt Akubarik loudspeakers in stunning Anthracite Grey finish.

As well as vinyl playback, this system is capable of streaming over 80 million tracks in CD quality or Hi Res studio master music from subscription based streaming services such as Qobuz and Tidal, or a local music library by way of an Innuos Zen music server or NAS (network attached storage) drive. Sky box and Apple TV are both connected digitally for optimum sound quality.

The Akurate System Hub connects directly to the home network and then to the Akubarik speakers via Ethernet cable to each. The speakers themselves have a module mounted to (but decoupled from) the speaker cabinet, which contains Linn’s unique Katalyst DAC system and five individual power amplifiers connected directly to each of the five individual speaker drive units.

The result is amazing performance from just a single discrete box and two speakers. All easily controlled from an app on phone or tablet.

Akubarik further benefits from Linn’s patented Space Optimisation Technology to maximise performance based on the acoustic properties of the room and the desired speaker placement, utilising time alignment and digital EQ. So your loudspeakers can be positioned anywhere in the room but retain absolute optimal audio presentation.

All of the equipment is designed, engineered and produced in Linn’s state of the art manufacturing facility in Glasgow’s southside.

The loudspeakers are finished in an Anthracite Grey, specifically selected from a vast range of RAL colours to perfectly compliment the aesthetic of the room.
