Allan Boyd

Managing Director - Glasgow

Founder of Loud & Clear, Allan has over twenty years experience in high end hi-fi, home cinema and  home automation.

Die-hard Led Zeppelin fan and lover of all music from 70s Disco to Punk and and minimal Detroit Techno – now has a young daughter, a situation which is seriously hampering involvement in his other two loves, motorcycles and snowboarding.

Installation & Technical Director – Glasgow

When not programming control systems, drawing in Autocad or cabling racks, Allan can be seen on site cutting holes for speakers  He has a plan someday to get away from it all and has recently completed his Private Pilots Licence. Allan is one of the original team  – joining us in 1999 – a highly experienced programmer – our in house Control 4 expert – cinema designer accomplished installer and sometime mountain climber.

Andrew Pirie

Financial Director – Glasgow

Accountant by day, superstar DJ by night, Andrew keeps a tight reign on all our finances, while jetsetting off to clubnights in New York, London and Croatia. Andrew also runs internationally renowned club night Melting Pot as well as looking after our very own disco reissue label Grooveline Records.

John Morrison

Glasgow’s front of house 

John has a frankly ridiculous collection of CDs and records, spanning experimental Jazz to American Garage bands. He is presently ripping his CD collection which could require the worlds biggest computer drive. Now in his twelfth year at Loud & Clear – John has a wealth of experience in two channel hi -fi, networking music streaming and all things vinyl.

Ian Pirie

Sales Manager – Glasgow

Our very own hi-fi and A/V encyclopedia – Ian has forgotten more about Hi-fi equipment than most of the rest of us has ever known. Ian has now been with us for over ten years, prior to that running hi-fi retailer Stereo Stereo and looking after stock at Linn Products.

With over twenty five years experience in the industry and self proclaimed “the man who invented hi-fi” – John was the joint founder of Loud & Clear Edinburgh. With a reputation for fastidious set up and attention to detail. John is the man to squeeze every ounce of performance from any system.

Senior Installer – Glasgow

Crack installer and fixer of technical problems Kevin has a key role in the field setting up systems and getting them to work to the best of their potential.

George Clegg

George joins us fresh from the corporate IT industry where he specialised in networking and streaming. Prior to this George was account manager with Linn. George is also a music geek, with a wide and varied taste, ranging all the way from South Central LA to the 5 Boroughs of New York.

Barbra Glegg

Having recently rejoined us after maternity leave, Barbra has worked in the hi-fi and home cinema industry for over 12 years – initially working as a sales and account manger with Linn, then Kaliedascape media servers.

A keen snowboarder – she now finds the bulk of her time taken up with her young family. Her musical tastes are decidedly indie with faves including Teenage Fanclub and the Arctic Monkeys.

Barry Christie

System Designer and Project Manager

Barry joins us after 4 years in the broadcast audio sector – specifically dealing with support, training and installation of turnkey radio stations and transmission systems in the UK, Africa & Middle East.

Prior to this he was known by his alter ego ‘Milton Jackson’ where he produced house music for the likes of Freerange and Planet E recordings; also DJing around the globe in Australia, Japan and Brazil.

Outside of music Barry is a bit of a geek for Cosmology and anything Space-related.

John Nilsen

John is our very own in house turntable expert and acclaimed LP 12 engineer. Having worked on and off in the hi-fi industry for almost thirty years – his other project Audio Origami, manufacturers a range of turntable tonearms included the highly respected new Uniarm. John has a lifetime of turntable set up experience and offers a range of specialist services including tonearm rewires and bearing replacement.

Neil Selkirk

As well as front line sales and running our service department in Glasgow Neil also looks after our eshops and ebay presence. A true aficionado of action movies and eighties rock music, his young daughter now limits his trips to the Cathouse.

Kenny Trench

Custom Installer

Kenny is an experienced AV installer with particular expertise in physical installation. Turning his hand to most things Kenny brings a host of experience and expertise in problem solving. Seemingly always cheerful – he is well known as the man who can get any cable to anywhere with minimal drama.

Steven Irvine

Custom Installer

Steven has over ten years experience in high end hi-fi and AV installation and has worked with Loud & Clear for almost five years.  As an owner of a reference Linn system Steven knows how to squeeze every ounce of performance from each and every system he installs.
